The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced the league’s best for the month of February.
Yorkton Terriers captain Jaron Desnoyers headlines being named league’s MVP of the Month.
The Parkland County, Alberta product had 19 points in 10 games in the month which has him in a tie with Jacob Strizzi for SJHL’s lead in points with 66.
In between the pipes, two goaltenders were rewarded as Melville Millionaires netminder Nick Genette and his 5-0 record in February earned him Rookie of the Month, while Battlefords’ Justen Maric was the Goalie of the Month.
Other monthly award winners included Melfort’s Ty Thornton (Defenceman), La Ronge’s Hudson Cameron (Forward) and Eric Hoiness of the Nipawin Hawks (Sask. born Player of the Month).
