Seven of the eight spots in the 2025 SJHL Canterra Seeds Cup Playoffs are set as teams enter the final two weeks of the regular season with positioning still up for grabs
The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.
1. Melfort Mustangs (41-7-0-2) -
The Mustangs earned three out of a possible four points in a heavyweight home and home with the Bombers on the weekend, which was enough to help the defending champs clinch the SJHL’s top seed.
Next Up: Wednesday vs. Yorkton / Friday vs. Nipawin / Sunday vs. La Ronge
Top Scorer: Reilly Kotai - 62 points in 47 games
2. Flin Flon Bombers (35-12-3-1) -
A nice rebound for the Bombers on Saturday at home against Melfort, after a disappointing road effort a night earlier on the road. The Bombers who’ve pretty much wrapped up the second seed will look to continue to get stronger and healthier in the final couple weeks of the regular season.
Up next: Friday & Saturday vs. Battlefords
Top Scorer: Ryder Ringor - 58 points in 51 games
3. Melville Millionaires (29-19-2-1) +1
Another impressive weekend for the Millionaires as they earned two more wins to move their winning streak to 11 straight. Home ice and the division now well within reach as the division matchups on the horizon with Weyburn and Yorkton.
This Week: Tuesday vs. Nipawin / Friday @ Weyburn / Saturday vs. Weyburn
Top Scorer: Jadon Iyogun - 45 points in 47 games
4. Weyburn Red Wings (31-17-2) -1
A one and one record this past week still has the Red Wings hanging barely to the third seed and the division lead. A busy week including another big home and home with Melville slated for the weekend.
Up Next: Tuesday @ Notre Dame / Friday vs. Melville / Saturday @ Melville
Top Scorer: Jerome Maharaj - 58 points in 45 games
5. Yorkton Terriers (31-19-1) -
One game for the Terriers this past week, a loss to the Humboldt Broncos on Friday night to push their losing streak to three. A heated three team battle with Melville and Weyburn right now for home-ice and division lead, but the Terriers are starting to get back healthier which is huge.
Next Up: Wednesday @ Melfort / Friday @ Estevan / Saturday vs. Estevan
Top Scorer: Jaron Desnoyers - 66 points in 44 games
6. Battlefords North Stars (27-20-3-2) -
The North Stars put together another great weekend with two wins to clinch a playoff spot and keep pace with Weyburn, Yorkton and Melville in the battle for positioning and home ice in round one. Offence a big part of success with 21 goals scored in their four game winning streak.
Up next: Friday & Saturday @ Flin Flon
Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko and Anothony Campbell with 50 points each
7. Humboldt Broncos (26-21-2-3) -
A one win week which could have easily been two wins, after shootout loss in Melville on Saturday. Four more games left for the Broncos to fine-tune and increase their placing as much as they can.
Up Next: Saturday vs. Notre Dame / Sunday vs. Kindersley
Top Scorer: Jacob Strizzi - 66 points in 48 games
8. La Ronge Ice Wolves (22-25-3-2) +1
Five out of a possible six points this past week has the Ice Wolves now within just one point of Kindersley for that final playoff. The remaining strength of schedule (Melfort & Flin Flon) doesn’t favour the Ice Wolves, but they’ve given themselves a chance and are playing their best hockey at the right time.
Up Next: Sunday @ Melfort
Top Scorer: Hudson Cameron - 46 points in 49 games
9. Kindersley Klippers (23-25-2-2) -1
The Klippers stumble towards the finish line continued this past week as they did snap a five game skid on Saturday, but gave it right back with a shutout loss to the Ice Wolves on Sunday. The race for the final playoff spot is going to be fun to watch in the last couple weeks.
Up Next: Friday @ Notre Dame / Sunday @ Humboldt
Top Scorer: Zakery Anderson- 41 points in 50 games
10. Nipawin Hawks (15-31-3-3) -
The role of spoiler has been embraced by the Hawks the last number of weeks and it continues with a home win over Kindersley at home. This young squad is taking some MAJOR strides, with some great young pieces on this roster for next year and beyond including netminder Gage Roberts.
This Week: Tuesday @ Melville / Friday @ Melfort
Top Scorer: Eric Hoiness - 41 points in 52 games
11. Estevan Bruins (16-29-5-1) -
The Bruins are another team that's playing for pride and trying to play the role of spoiler down the stretch. If they want to have success to end off, they have to try and keep the puck out of their net with 23 goals against in their last four.
Up Next: Friday vs. Yorkton / Saturday @ Yorkton
Top Scorer: Ewan Rennie - 47 points in 51 games
12. Notre Dame Hounds (11-35-2-2) -
