Just over a month into the 2024/25 regular season and parity is once again showcased with 1st to 7th place separated by just four total points, so which of those teams is this week's number one?

The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.

1. Weyburn Red Wings (9-4-1)

The Red Wings' red-hot play continued, with points in ten straight games. After an OT blemish against Humboldt, they followed that up with two big home-ice wins over Melville and Melfort.

This Week: Nov 1st & Nov. 2nd @ Kindersley

Top Scorer: Ethan Dekay - 18 points in 11 games

2. Melfort Mustangs (10-3-0)

The Mustangs currently have the highest win total with ten and continue to start their league title defense playing some great hockey with wins in five of their last six games. Zac Somers returning will only make them even better.

This Week: Oct. 30th vs. Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Logan Belton - 19 points in 13 games

3. Melville Millionaires (9-3-1)

The Millionaires split their weekend games against their divisional rivals from Highway 39 in Weyburn and Estevan. Young netminders Nick Genette and Luke Brunen both with solid play in place of veteran Loic Morin who’ll be out for a fair bit.

This Week: Nov 1st vs. La Ronge / Nov. 2nd @ Humboldt

Top Scorer: Caden Drury - 25 points in 13 games

4. Battlefords North Stars (8-4-1)

A stretch of six road games for the North Stars ended with a weekend sweep in La Ronge against the Ice Wolves to try and keep pace with the division leading Klippers. Ukrainian Nikita Ivashchenko continues to pace the club offensively.

This Week: Nov. 1st & Nov. 2nd vs. Notre Dame

Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko - 17 points in 13 games

5. Yorkton Terriers (8-7-0)

After having three wins taken off their record due to forfeiture, the Terriers put together a very good 3 and 1 road trip to get right back into the playoff picture.  A team that’s handled early-season adversity very well early on.

This Week: Nov. 1st vs. Estevan (in Cote) & Nov 2nd @ La Ronge (in Churchbridge)

Top Scorer: Jaron Desnoyers - 22 points in 15 games

6. Humboldt Broncos (8-4-1)

The Broncos cooled off for one night, the top-ranked Red Wings handing them their first defeat in seven, before a split at the Whitney Forum against the Bombers. Offense has been there all season with a league-high 56 goals in 13 games so far.

This Week: Oct. 29th vs. La Ronge  / Nov. 2nd vs. Melville

Top Scorer: Jacon Strizzi - 20 points in 13 games

7. Kindersley Klippers (9-5-0)

The Klippers have a VERY heavy home loaded schedule at the front half of their schedule and captured two of three of those home games this week and they’re doing so by scoring lots of goals with at least four in their last four games.

This Week: Oct. 29th @ Notre Dame / Nov 1st & Nov 2nd vs. Weyburn

Top Scorer: Zakery Anderson - 15 points in 14 games

8. Flin Flon Bombers (6-8-1)

The Bombers wrapped up their five game home-stand with a weekend split with Humboldt, but the struggle to score is still a problem. Addition of WHL veteran Matthew Kieper in goal makes for a crowded crease.

This Week:  Oct. 30th vs. Melfort

Top Scorer: Koen Senft - 13 points in 15 games

9. La Ronge Ice Wolves (5-8-1)

Ice Wolves have shown they can score some goals during their recent four game slide, but keeping the puck of theirs hasn’t been the difference with 16 goals against in the last three. A busy four game road trip is on the horizon for this week.

This Week: Oct. 29th @ Humboldt / Oct. 30th @ Notre Dame / Nov. 1st @ Melville / Nov. 2nd vs. Yorkton (in Churchbridge)

Top Scorer: Jacob Cossette / Hudson Cameron - 13 points each

10.  Estevan Bruins (4-5-1-1)

The Bruins probably deserved better results in a couple of one goal losses to two of the league’s best in Melfort and Melville over the weekend. First-year forward Luke Hogan continues to impress with a four-point weekend to vault into the team lead.

This Week: Nov. 1st @ Yorkton (in Cote)

Top Scorers: Luke Hogan - 13 points in 11 games

11. Notre Dame Hounds (3-11-0)

Youngsters are starting to get used to the Junior game, and it’s shown as the offense has started to come more.  Neka Jean’s stellar rookie season continues with three more goals in the last two games.

This Week: Oct. 29th vs. Kindersley / Oct. 30th vs. La Ronge / Nov. 1st @ Battlefords / Nov. 2nd @ Battlefords

Top Scorer:  Neka Jean - 13 points in 14 games

12. Nipawin Hawks (2-10-1)

27 goals against in the last four games is not a recipe for success anytime, and the Hawks can’t seem to get out of their early season rut yet as quickly as they would like.

This Week: Oct. 29th vs. Melville

Top Weekly Scorer: Konnor Watson - 8 points in 10 games
