TERRIERS 0, MUSTANGS 3
Kristian Coombs stopped all 28 shots he faced to help the Melfort Mustangs take a 2-0 series lead after a 3-0 victory over the Yorkton Terriers in Game 2 of their SJHL Semi-Final.
The Mustangs power continued to shine striking two more times in the game with goals from Logan Belton and Zac Somers while Cole Unger also scored in the third.
The Terriers powerplay went 0/6 on the night, and is now goalless in eight chances in the series.
Ethan Farrow got the start for the Terriers in Game 2 and stopped 24 of 27 shots.
The series shifts back to Yorkton for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday & Wednesday.
RED WINGS 4, BOMBERS 1
The Weyburn Red Wings will head back home up two games to none in the SJHL Semi-Final after a 4-1 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers in Game 2 from the Whitney Forum.
Angelo Zol was once again rock-solid in the Red Wings stopping 31 of 32 shots, and has now allowed just two goals on 72 shots in the series.
Liam Fitzgerald powered the Red Wings offence with two goals, while Simon Martin and Josh Sale chipped in with singles.
Leighton Carruthers in his return to the lineup scored the lone goal for the Bombers, who’ll head on the road on Tuesday and Wednesday to Crescent Point Place to take on the Red Wings for Games 3 and 4.
