Melville Millionaires cash in on home ice win over Estevan Bruins

BRUINS 3, MILLIONAIRES 4

The Melville Millionaires earned their ninth win of the season on Saturday night after a 4-3 victory over the Estevan Bruins.

Millionaires captain Matt Kjemhus scored the game winner with 21 seconds left in regulation, while Leo Jewitt, Edward Knittig and Ryan Roethke also scored for the Moneymen.

Luke Hogan scored twice while Kent Moors chipped in with the other marker for the visiting Bruins who got 29 stops from Ben Polhill in the loss.

Mils netminder Luke Brunen made 26 saves on 29 shots in the victory.

The Millionaires return to action on Tuesday night visiting the Nipawin Hawks. You can hear the game on GX94 with Benny Walchuk starting with the pregame show at 6:50.

TERRIERS 5, KLIPPERS 4

Tyler Palin scored his sixth goal of the season with 1:50 left in regulation to help the Yorkton Terriers to a 5-4 victory over the Kindersley Klippers on Saturday night.

Terriers’ netminder Ethan Farrow made 45 saves to earn the victory, while Carter Briltz, Vinay Junek, Thomas Ries and Dustin Renas also chipped in offensively for the Terriers.

Zak Anderson scored twice while Cam Perlinger and Rylan Wieler also hit the back of the net for the Klippers.

The Terriers’ return to action on Friday night against the Estevan Bruins in a game being played on the Cote First Nation.
