David Coyle’s overtime winner pushes Yorkton Terriers to wild Game 2 victory

MILLIONAIRES 5, TERRIERS 6 (OT)

David Coyle’s power play goal just 7:22 into overtime helped the Yorkton Terriers comeback to beat the Melville Millionaires 6-5 on Sunday night to take a 2-0 series lead in their Best of 7 SJHL Quarter-Final.

The Millionaires took the lead with 47 seconds left as Preston Baerwald deflected a Matt Kjemhus point shot past Ethan Farrow to make it 5-4 but Tate Schofer’s second of the night with just over four seconds to go to push the game to the extra period.

Tylan Henrikson and Vinay Junek also scored for the Terriers who got 26 saves from Ethan Farrow in the win.
 

Gaborik Carlson, Noah Belles-Isles, Jadon Iyogun and Alex Morrison provided the other offence for the Moneymen, while Nick Genette allowed six goals on 29 shots in the Mils crease.

The series shifts back to Melville for Games 3 and 4 starting Tuesday night at the CN Community Centre. You can catch all the action on GX94 starting with the pregame at 6:45 PM and puck drop at 7:00 PM.
