There was a collective gasp in Rider Nation when Trevor Harris went down and stayed down on the turf at Mosaic stadium.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders kept their winning streak alive with a convincing 36-20 victory over the Hamilton Tigercats at Mosaic Stadium.

However, the celebratory mood was tempered by concerns over the health of quarterback Trevor Harris. Harris, who had previously undergone season-ending surgery in 2023, suffered a worrisome leg injury in the second quarter of the game.

Although he was helped off the field, he later returned to the sideline wearing a brace on his left leg. Coach Corey Mace provided some reassurance, stating that Harris should be fine, but the true extent of his injury will only be known when the team returns to practice on June 30, following their bye week.

In the absence of Harris, Shea Patterson stepped in but was unable to match the efficiency of the injured quarterback. Despite this setback, the Riders managed to overcome their penalty issues from the previous games and displayed a more disciplined performance.

A highlight of the game was rookie Ajou Ajou scoring his first CFL touchdown, Sam Emilus also had a touchdown for the Riders and so did Jameer Thurman on a Bo Levi Mitchell interception.

Looking ahead, the Riders are gearing up to face the Toronto Argonauts at Mosaic Stadium on Thursday, July 4.

It will be interesting to see how the team adapts in Harris's potential absence and whether Patterson can rise to the occasion.

Rider Nation will undoubtedly be holding its breath as the team navigates through this uncertain period.
