ESTEVAN - The Softball Saskatchewan U13 B provincial tournament continues Saturday at the Jody Waloshin Softball Diamonds in Estevan.

The 21-team tournament opened Friday with a full slate of games. The host Estevan Elite played twice, defeating the Southeast Supernovas 11-9 in a thrilling game that opened the tournament, but losing 7-1 to the Saskatoon Hustlers in an evening clash.

The Supernovas, meanwhile, recovered to defeat the Twin Cities Angels Queens 4-3 in an afternoon game.

The opening ceremonies were held Friday evening. Teams paraded onto one of the diamonds, and dignitaries and softball leaders delivered speeches. It was also a celebration of the sport's past and present in Estevan. (More on the ceremonies can be found here).

The games on Saturday began at 8 a.m., and the final games for the day will start at 6:30 p.m. Twenty-one games will again take place. The 6:30 p.m. games will wrap up the round robin.

The Elite will play at noon against the Meadow Lake Sox and at 6:30 p.m. against the Regina Royals Rockers. The Supernovas' games are at 10 a.m. against the Hustlers and 4:30 p.m. against the Sox.
