ESTEVAN - The Softball Saskatchewan U13 B Provincial Championship is underway at the Pleasantdale Softball Diamonds in Estevan.
The Estevan Elite rallied from an early 3-1 deficit to defeat the Southeast Supernovas 11-9 in the tournament opener Friday morning. Games have been happening since that time, and will continue throughout the day, except for during the opening ceremonies Friday at 6 p.m.
There will be more games Saturday and Sunday. The Elite will play the Saskatoon Hustlers on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and then they have two games on Saturday, facing the Meadow Lake Sox at noon and the Regina Royals Rockers at 6:30 p.m.
The gold medal game is slated for Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Twenty-one teams are in Estevan for the tournament, creating a considerable boost for the local economy
