TERRIERS 4, BRUINS 5 (OT)

Ewan Rennie scored the game winner on the powerplay 3:18 into overtime to lead the Estevan Bruins to a 5-4 victory over the Yorkton Terriers on Friday night.

Carter Onrait, Brady Wilson, Luke Hogan and Jacob Hufty also scored while AP Luke Norman made 36 saves to earn his first SJHL win.

Carter Briltz, Tate Schofer, David Coyle and Evan Auld replied for the Terriers who erased a two goal deficit twice.

Terriers netminder Ethan Farrow made 38 stops in the defeat.

The two teams will battle once again on Saturday night in Yorkton to wrap up their season series.


MILLIONAIRES 1, RED WINGS 3

Liam Fitzgerald broke a 1-1 tie early in the third with a powerplay goal as the Weyburn Red Wings increased their lead atop the Viterra division with a 3-1 win over the Melville Millionaires.

Jonah Bierd and Josh Sale also scored for the Red Wings, while Raine Hodge tied things up for the Mils in the second with a powerplay goal of his own.

Weyburn’s Angelo Zol made 30 saves on 31 shots to earn the victory, while Ben Laurette stopped 25 shots for Melville, who lost their second straight.
The Millionaires will host the Red Wings for a matinee on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
