Football: Huskies @ University of British Columbia Thunderbirds

The nearly 10,000 fans in attendance at Thunderbird Stadium went home happy on Friday night as the hometown T-Birds handed the University of Saskatchewan Huskies football team their third loss of the season 38-24. UBC improved to 2-2 while the Huskies fall to 1-3.

In the first half the Huskies had one major, an 87-yard touchdown pass from Anton Amundrud to Daniel Wiebe. That along with 10 points from kicker Lucas Scott on three field goals and a rouge gave the Huskies 17 points. But UBC's offence countered with three majors and led 21-17 at halftime.

In the second half, UBC had an early major, a 59-yard rushing touchdown from Isaiah Knight, and UBC went onto win.

The next game for the Huskies is Friday, September 27 when the dogs host the University of Alberta Golden Bears. Game time is 7 p.m. at Griffiths Stadium.

Men's soccer: Huskies vs. University of British Columbia Thunderbirds

The Huskies men's soccer team played host to the No. 2 ranked Thunderbirds on Friday night and it was the visitors earning a 2-0 victory on the turf at Griffiths Stadium. 

UBC had goals from Henri Godbout and Chris Lee to help them remain undefeated and improve their Canada West record to 5-0-2. 

With the loss the Huskies record drops to 2-6.

Saturday, September 21

Women's soccer: Huskies @ University of Lethbridge Pronghorns

The Huskies women's soccer team was looking to remain undefeated on Saturday as they faced the Pronghorns in Lethbridge. This was a dominating performance by the Huskies from start to finish as they out shot the Horns 21-7. In the end, thanks to two goals from Taryn Izsak and Tia Lecox, the Huskies won 6-0.

With the victory, the Huskies women's team improved to 4-0-1 this season.

Sunday, September 22

Women's soccer: Huskies @ University of Calgary Dinos

In their second game of the Alberta trip, the Huskies faced the Dinos in Calgary. And the U of C rode a goal from Isabella DiPalma in the 32nd minute to the 1-0 victory, handing the Huskies their first loss of the season.

Shots were close in this one with the Dinos edging out the Huskies 16-11.

The next game for the women's soccer team is Saturday, September 28 in Edmonton versus the University of Alberta Pandas at noon.

Men's soccer: Huskies vs. University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves

The men's team was looking to get a split on their weekend schedule, unfortunately their opposition had other plans. The Huskies lost 3-2 to the UNBC Timberwolves on Sunday. Goals for the Huskies came from Daler Tokhirov and Ethan Cabral. 

The next game for the Huskies men's soccer team is on Saturday, September 28 when the face the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton. Game time is 1:30.
