Hockey Saskatchewan names final 80 players to compete for WHL Cup roster

After a weekend of competition at the Male U15 Top 160 Tournament in Regina in December, Hockey Saskatchewan has announced the 80 players advancing to the next stage of the High-Performance Program.

After a weekend of competition at the Male U15 Top 160 Tournament in Regina in December, Hockey Saskatchewan has announced the 80 players advancing to the next stage of the High-Performance Program.

The selected players will compete in the highly anticipated Top 80 Tournament in Balgonie from February 14–16. This event is a key step toward earning a spot on Team Sask for the 2025 WHL Cup.

“These players demonstrated exceptional skill, effort, and determination over the weekend,” said Hockey Saskatchewan officials. “The Top 80 Tournament will further challenge them as they continue to develop in our high-performance pathway.”

The tournament will feature 14-year-old Maddox Schultz from Regina. Schultz is leading the Saskatchewan U18 AAA league as an underage player.

The Top 80 tournament weekend is known to be one of the largest gatherings for WHL scouts and general managers looking for their next prospects.
