A three win week has the Melfort Mustangs rising back up, while the Weyburn Red Wings drop two at home to slightly stumble.

The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.

1. Melfort Mustangs (14-4-0)  +2

After suffering a setback last week, the Mustangs responded pretty nicely with three wins all on home ice this week. A good test for the defending champs this week with the next four on the road including a heavyweight tilt in Yorkton on Tuesday night.

This Week: Nov. 19th @ Yorkton / Nov 22 & Nov. 23rd @ Kindersley

Top Scorer: Logan Belton - 22 points in 18 games

2. Weyburn Red Wings  (13-6-1) -1

The Red Wings impressive 14 game point streak came to a screeching halt over the weekend with two one-goal home losses to the Battlefords North Stars.Team is facing their first chunk of adversity in over a month, and will be tested with a big divisional battle on Tuesday in Melville

This Week:  Nov. 19th @ Melville

Top Scorer: Jerome Maharaj - 24 points in 17 games

3. Yorkton Terriers  (12-7-0)  -1

We will see how a 10 day break in between games will impact the play of one of the hottest teams in the SJHL. The Terriers will take a five game winning streak into their first home game since Oct. 18th on Tuesday against the top-ranked Mustangs

This Week: Nov. 19th vs. Melfort / Nov. 22nd vs. Melville / Nov. 23rd @ Melville

Top Scorer: Jaron Desnoyers - 27 points in 18 games

4. Battlefords North Stars (11-5-2-1)  +1

You couldn’t have put together a better way to start a stretch of seven straight road games then four out of a possible four points against the previously top-ranked Red Wings. Veteran netminder a big part of that success with two 40+ save victories in Weyburn.

This Week: Nov. 19th @ Nipawin / Nov. 22nd & Nov. 23rd @ Estevan

Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko - 23 points in 19 games

5. Humboldt Broncos  (11-7-1-0)  -1

A split for the Broncos during their two game week as after yet another win over Melville, their offence was denied by a hot netminder in a loss to Nipawin.  The Broncos are still playing some hockey as they head up north to La Ronge this weekend for a pair.

This Week: Nov. 22nd & Nov. 23rd @ La Ronge

Top Scorer: Jacob Strizzi- 22 points in 15 games

6. Melville Millionaires (10-8-1-1)  -

Another week has come and gone, it’s another week of looking for answers especially offensively for the Moneymen who are still winless in November. Is it still a rut that just needs a win to break through, or are there more concerns in the Rail City? Guess we will see, with three BIG divisional tilts this week.

This Week: Nov. 19th vs. Weyburn / Nov. 22nd @ Yorkton / Nov. 23rd vs. Yorkton

Top Scorer: Caden Drury - 31 points in 20 games

7. Flin Flon Bombers (10-9-1) +1

Opposite of the Millionaires, it’s been a November so far for the Bombers who’ve won four straight to start the month including a weekend sweep over the Klippers in Kindersley over the weekend. 20 year old Matthew Kieper has been rock solid between the pipes for the Bombers

This Week: Nov. 22nd vs. Nipawin / Nov. 23rd @ Nipawin

Top Scorer: Carter Anderson / Ryder Ringor with 19 points each

8.  La Ronge Ice Wolves  (11-10-1) +2

Ice Wolves continued their heavy-home game month of November with two convincing wins over the Estevan Bruins where their offense blew up. But don’t forget about first year netminder Graham Brown who stopped 52 of 54 shots in the two victories.

This Week:  Nov. 22nd & Nov. 23rd @ Humboldt

Top Scorer: Mason Bueckert - 23 points in 22 games

9. Kindersley Klippers (10-8-1-0)  -2

After a hot start to the season, the Klippers have sputtered a bit in November dropping five of their last 6 games including the last two on the weekend to Flin Flon. Kindersley’s powerplay has also gone dry with just one goal in their last 16 chances.

This Week: Nov. 19th & Nov 20th @ Notre Dame / Nov. 22nd & Nov. 23rd vs. Melfort

Top Scorer:  Zakery Anderson - 18 points in 19 games

10.  Estevan Bruins  (5-9-2-1)  -1

The Bruins have scored the second fewest goals in the league, and it was evident over the past week with just four total over the last four games, as they came up with just one out of a possible six points in their recent northern road trip. They’ve also been without two of their leading scorers Luke Hogan & Kent Moors due to injury and also saw the departure of 20 year old Kyle Kelsey to the BCHL.

This Week: Nov. 22nd & Nov. 23rd vs. Battlefords

Top Scorers: Luke Hogan / Ewan Rennie - 15 points each

11. Notre Dame Hounds (5-14-1) -

The young Hounds continue to be a tough out each and every game & nearly snuck one out in Melfort over the weekend which would have made it three wins in their last four. Netminder Spencer Borsos continues to give his team a chance to win each night.

This Week: Nov. 19th & Nov. 20th vs. Kindersley

Top Scorer: Marko Djordjevic - 16 points in 20 games

12. Nipawin Hawks (3-12-1-1) -

The Hawks put together two of their better efforts of the season over the weekend taking three out of a possible four points highlighted by a 36 save shutout on Saturday from youngster Gage Roberts. If Nipawin continues to get solid goaltending like they did, and find a way to score goals, the wins should come more.

This Week:  Nov. 19th vs. Battlefords / Nov. 22nd @ Flin Flon / Nov. 23rd vs. Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Will Whitter - 9 points in 17 games
