Shawn Bane Jr. will not play another game for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024.

The 29-year-old suffered what has turned out to be a season-ending knee injury in Week 17 against Ottawa. Redblacks' defensive back Money Hunter was going for an interception on a Trevor Harris pass and collided with No. 15 causing the setback to his right knee.

Bane Jr. posted the news on Instagram:

"What a journey it has been so far. Thank you to everyone who's been following, supporting, encouraging and loving me on this journey. Unfortunately my 2024 season has been cut short but God has been with me through it all. Thank you to everyone in-house; coaches, teammates, our media team and the medical staff for allowing me to be me. Can't stop, won't stop. 2025 SBJ loading."

The five-foot-nine, 178-pounder played 14 games this season while hauling in 49 passes for 581 yards and five touchdowns. In 2023, Bane Jr. caught 93 passes for 1,104 yards and four majors. During four seasons in the CFL, he has 166 receptions for 2,073 yards with 11 touchdowns.
