The 2024 WHL Cup will take place next month in Red Deer, Alberta, and the twenty players that’ll compete for Team Saskatchewan have been named.
Saskatchewan is stacked with great talent from the 2009-born player class including Calgary Hitmen’s fourth overall WHL draft pick, Calder Hamilton of Martensville, Edmonton Oil Kings first-rounder and fifth overall pick, Kayden Stroeder of Lanigan, and Nipawin product and forward, Blake Chorney, who went 10th overall in this past Spring’s WHL Draft to the Vancouver Giants.
The final roster includes two goaltenders, six defensemen, and twelve forwards, each selected from across the province.
The full team roster is available on the newly launched Team Saskatchewan webpage.
Team Saskatchewan will be led by head coach Brett Pilkington, with assistant coaches Mark Peterson and Mitch Topinka. Supporting the team are video coach Kyle Schneider, equipment manager Josh Brown, athletic therapist Kacey Marcinkiw, and mental performance consultant Kyle McDonald.
Saskatchewan will kick off their event on Wednesday, October 23rd, against Team Alberta.
