The Regina Pat Canadians have cruised into the final of the Men’s Under-18 AAA Western Regional tournament thanks to Cruz Klapak.
Klapak had four goals and an assist in the Pat Canadians 8-0 win over Thunder Bay on Saturday.
Regina outshot Thunder Bay 64-18 in the contest and scored four times in the first period, once in the second period and added three more goals in the third period.
Adam Muntain made 18 saves in the Regina goal for the shutout in his first appearance of the tournament.
The Pat Canadians now take on the Winnipeg Wild in the final with the winner advancing to the Telus Cup national championship in Chilliwack, B.C.
Winnipeg dropped their opening game of the tournament to Regina, but then beat Thunder Bay before losing to Kenora in a shootout in their final round robin game.
