After La Ronge's weekend sweep over the Estevan Bruins, a trio of Ice Wolves were rewarded for their efforts with Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Player of the Week awards.

Veteran forward Cole Thomas was named the SJHL's Forward of the Week, captain Rylan Silzer was named the week's Top Defenceman, while 20-year-old forward Mason Bueckert was the Saskatchewan-born Player of the Week after contributing four points in two home games.

Battlefords North Stars netminder Justen Maric, after earning two wins over the red-hot Weyburn Red Wings, was named SJHL MVP of the Week.

Maric's two wins, both 40+ save performances, helped the North Stars snap the Red Wings' 14-game point streak.

Two more goalies were recognized, including Flin Flon netminder Matthew Kieper as Goalie of the Week, and Nipawin goalie Gage Roberts as Rookie of the Week, after his 36-save shutout win over the Humboldt Broncos on Saturday night.
