The Saskatoon Blades have sigend 2009-born defenceman Noah Morrison to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The Plano, TX native was drafted by the Blades in the second round (44th overall) of the 2024 U.S. Priority Draft.

“Noah is an exciting young player who showed very well at our training camp in the fall,” said Blades director of scouting, Dan Tencer, “He’s a long and rangy defender with excellent offensive instincts and some real bite to his game. As he continues to grow and fill into his frame, we think there’s a very complete player here.”

The 6-foot defenceman has 11 goals, ten assists, and 36 penalty minutes in 28 games this season with the Dallas Stars Elite 15U AAA squad. Morrison appeared in 79 games with the Dallas Stars Elite 14U AAA program in 2023-24, scoring 62 points (14G, 48A) to compliment his 86 penalty minutes. Morrison also dressed in three games at last year’s U.S. U14 Nationals and recorded 12 penalty minutes.

“Noah is also highly motivated to be in Saskatoon,” said Tencer, “Even before the recent NCAA rule changes, we were headed towards this agreement being finalized. He wants to compete against the best players and is also excited to be playing in Canada.”
