The Melville Millionaires faced a tough overtime loss on Saturday night, dropping a 4-3 decision to the Melfort Mustangs.

Reilly Kotai emerged as the game-winner, securing his second goal just 1:39 into overtime on a power play, marking the Millionaires' first defeat of the 2024/25 season.

Kotai set the tone with the opening goal, while contributions from Nolan Roberts and Ty Thornton kept the Mustangs' momentum strong.

The Millionaires responded with efforts from Jadon Iygoun, Jackson Lee, and Caden Drury, yet their unbeaten streak in regulation now stands at 5-0-1.

In the net, Madden Mullawka was pivotal for the Mustangs, turning away 14 of 17 shots. On the other end, Millionaires' goalie Loic Morin faced a challenging night, conceding four goals on 25 attempts.

The Millionaires are eager to bounce back as they prepare to host the Weyburn Red Wings at the CN Community Centre on Tuesday night.
