Paul Kimball, Freelance Reporter

Paul Kimball had three career ambitions – marine biology, journalism and pastoring.
Science marks ended the first dream, wrong high school courses dashed the second, so he pursued the third. After a year in seminary, he went to Winnipeg to work at a church for a summer.
He liked that city so much that he moved there permanently and met Linda, the woman he would eventually marry. School didn’t go well, so his pastoral desires fell by the wayside.
Paul went into sales for 29 years. At 51, he made a career change. He worked for a mission, serving the homeless. Then the pastoral itch came back.
He applied to a few churches and wound up in Carnduff.
Paul and Linda arrived in 2014. A month later, he started writing for the Carnduff Gazette.
He has been writing for the Observer since May 2022.
Paul and Linda have three children and three grandchildren.
