YORKTON - It was a day for young curlers to hone their skills and have some fun.
Friday the Yorkton Curling Club hosted 28 teams featuring Grade 9 and younger players from not just Yorkton, but as far afield as Swan River, Norquay and Esterhazy.
Local volunteer Dave Baron explained it was a very informal event, one where scores did not get recorded and no prizes were offered. Instead it was about having young players throwing stones and enjoying the sport of curling.
