Yorkton and Nipawin play to extra time Friday

YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers were in Nipawin Friday and it would take more than 60-minutes to determine a winner.    

The hometown Hawks opened scoring with Eric Hoiness finding the mark 2:24 in.

Dustin Renas knotted things at 9:56 and the tie held until into the middle stanza.

In the second period Yorkton edged ahead 3-2 as they sandwiched two around a single Nipawin goal.

Keenan Ingram and David Coyle scored for the Terriers with Ashton Tate scoring the Hawks marker.

In the third there was only one goal, a powerplay effort by Nipawin’s Van Taylor at 9:28 to tie things 3-3.

It took 1:56 of extra things to finally settle things, Finley Radloff sending the hometown fans happy with a 4-3 Hawks’ win.

Ethan Farrow was in the Terrier net facing 31-shots, while Nathan Claydon faced 29-shots for Nipawin.
