TISDALE - The Tisdale curling club started its weekly curling draws last week and saw their numbers double in the ladies league.

Marc Anderson, Tisdale Curling Club manager and ice technician said that last season only six teams were entered and only five after December. This year sees 12 rinks curling on Tuesday night in the ladies league curling. There was an increase to 12 teams on Thursday curling from 11 last season.

Anderson said there will be a mixed bonspiel on Nov. 22 and 23. The curling club has also been offering glow curling evenings this season. This Friday, Nov. 15, the Cornerstone Credit Union is sponsoring a fun Friday curling event. There will be free pizza and drink specials.

Anderson said, “If you wish to go glow curling, you need to rent the ice.” Contact the Tisdale Curling Club for more information on rentals. The club will also be offering free curling or drop-in curling every second Thursday starting at 6 p.m. starting on Nov. 28.
