ESTEVAN - The Estevan Great North U18 AAA Bears went 0-for-2 during their weekend games at the Swift Current Legionnaires.

The first game was a 9-0 loss Sunday evening – one of the Bears' most lopsided losses in franchise history. Swift Current scored five times in the second period to break open a 2-0 game. Only three members of the Legionnaires didn't record a point in the game.

Brady Carr started in goal and allowed four goals on 11 shots. Cole Ivey came on in relief and gave up five goals on 28 shots.

The next game was much closer – a 6-5 decision Monday that Estevan led 5-4 midway through the third period.

Kobe Wotta opened the scoring 45 seconds into the game for Estevan, and Roan Burgess scored to put Estevan up 2-1 with less than six minutes to play in the first. Swift Current scored twice before the period was out, and added another marker in the second for a 4-2 lead.

Gunner Moore scored shortly after Swift Current's fourth goal to bring Estevan back within one.

Dylan Brass and Moore scored in the third to make it a 5-4 game, only to have Swift Current tie the game again, and the Legionnaires scored the winner late in the third.

Carr stopped 17 of the 23 shots he faced.

The Bears (8-6-2) will visit the Saskatoon Contacts on Nov. 15 and 16, and then host the Regina Pat Canadians on Nov. 20, starting at 8 p.m.
