ESTEVAN - Estevan teams captured gold and bronze medals at the annual U13 hockey tournament hosted by the Estevan Minor Hockey Association from Friday to Sunday.
The Estevan 5-Star Concrete Bears defeated the Yorkton UCT Terriers 6-5 in the gold-medal game. And the Estevan Hank's Maintenance Bears beat the Prairie Storm Thunder in the bronze-medal contest. (Score was not available).
Twelve teams were entered in the tournament. They were divided into four pools of three for a round robin. They then competed in the playoffs.
Other Estevan teams entered included the Bramko Bears, the Nix 6 Bears and the female Bearcats.
Games were played at Affinity Place, the Power Dodge Arena and the Bienfait Memorial Arena.
