YORKTON - Deer Park Golf Course was an extremely busy locale Monday, and nary a golfer in sight.

Instead, more than 600 students – Grades 3-8 – from 23 schools in the Good Spirit School Division gathered for the first cross country run event of the season.

Next up runners will gather at Saltcoats Regional Park Sept. 27, and then wrap up the season with districts to be hosted by Yorkton Regional High School, and held at JayCee Beach Oct. 2.
