The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American running back Trent Pennix.

Pennix, a six-foot-two, 234-pound RB, was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft and attended training camp with the team. Pennix rejoined Indianapolis in October, spending the remainder of the season on the practice roster.

Prior to turning pro, Pennix played in 54 career games, making 15 starts, over six seasons at North Carolina State.

Pennix's athleticism was featured by the Wolfpack, as he was used both as a tight end and running back. With North Carolina State, Pennix made 55 career receptions for 712 yards with 11 touchdowns. He also registered 41 carries for 240 yards and one touchdown.
