The Yorkton Terriers took the fifth Highway 10 battle of the season after a 5-2 victory over the Melville Millionaires on Monday night at the Westland Insurance Arena.
The Millionaires got off to a quick start as Brendan Olson opened the scoring just 49 seconds in to make it 1-0 before Gaborik Carlson added his third of the season to give the road team a two goal lead through 20 minutes.
The Terriers responded quick in the middle frame as their second rank powerplay struck as David Coyle notched his 13th of the season to cut their deficit in half before Harrison Aldridge sniped his first of the campaign to pull the game even after two periods.
Dustin Renas netted the eventual game winner just 6:58 into the third as he re-directed a pass from Keenan Ingram through the five-hole of Mils netminder Ben Laurette for his 14th of the year to make it 3-2.
Coyle and Riley Cormier added some late insurance markers to help the Terrier earn their sixth straight win.
Yorkton netminder Ethan Farrow made 19 saves to earn his 12th victory of the season, while Ben Laurette stopped 29 shots to drop his record to 2 and 1.
The two teams will once again meet on New Year's Day on Wednesday in Melville at the CN Community Centre. GX94 will broadcast the game with the pregame starting at 1:50 PM.
