The University of Regina Rams playoff hopes suffered a devastating blow Saturday in losing to the University of Calgary Dinos.

Women's soccer: Cougars vs. University of Lethbridge Pronghorns

After spending the last two weeks facing Alberta opponents on the road, the University of Regina Cougars women's soccer team was back at home and playing host to a pair of Alberta Rivals in the Canada West. 

On Saturday Regina welcomed the Pronghorns and thanks to Peyton Enns scoring her third goal of the season and Presley Fredlund getting her first, the Cougars opened the weekend with a 2-0 victory. Cassidy Fedoruk made five saves in net for the shutout.

With the victory the Cougars inched closer to the .500 mark this season, improving to 4-5-0.

Sunday, October 6

Women's soccer: Cougars vs. University of Calgary Dinos

The Dinos went into this game tied for first in the Canada West's Prairie Conference with 7-1-1 record. After all was said and done five goals were scored in a narrow 3-2 victory for the visitors. 

Calgary improved to 8-1-1 and remain tied for first with Grant MacEwan atop the conference standings. The Cougars fall to 4-6.

Next week the Cougars play their provincial rivals the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in a home-and-home series. On Friday they are in Saskatoon to face the Huskies at 7 p.m. at Griffiths Stadium. Saturday they host the Huskies at University of Regina Field, once again, game time is 7 p.m.
