Saskatoon swimmer Hannah Ouellette has been named the Sask Sport December Athlete of the Month.
Ouellette, 18, broke a Canadian record and claimed five medals at the Ken Demchuk International Invitational in Markham, Ontario, in December.
Ouellette swam a Canadian record-breaking time of 54.97 seconds in the S5 50-metre backstroke event and claimed gold. She also finished on top of the podium in the S5 50-m butterfly, obtaining a qualifying time for the 2025 World Championships.
In addition, she swam in three other individual events: the S5 50-m freestyle (silver), the S5 100-m freestyle (bronze), and the SM5 200-m individual medley (bronze).
Later in the month, she swam in four more events at the JP Fiset Invitational Swim Meet, earning three additional bronze medals.
