Saturday night on Co-op Field, the Saskatchewan Rush hosts the Philadelphia Wings in SaskTel Centre.
Saskatchewan is 3-0 on the season for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign. The Rush are coming off a 14-12 win over the Rochester Knighthawks on the road. Austin Shanks and Zach Manns led the way with seven combined goals and 13 points. Manns is tied for the league lead in goals with 13. Jake Naso won 83% of the faceoffs, and Frank Scigliano made 35 saves on 47 shots. The Rush could be without defender Connor McClelland, who is on the IR with an upper-body injury from the preseason, and Robert Church, who suffered a lower-body injury on December 14th.
Shanks A Lot: Saskatchewan’s Austin Shanks scored his second game-winner of the season on December 21st in Rochester, bringing his season total to seven in three games.
This season, Philadelphia is 2-1 after back-to-back wins over the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. Joe Resetarits led the Wings with four goals and nine assists in their 15-9 win on December 20th at Lee’s Family Forum. Resetarits leads the squad with 29 points this season. Between the pipes, former PCLC netminder Nick Damude has started all three games, posting a .760 save percentage this season.
Streak Snapper: The Philadelphia Wings are 0-3 against the Rush since they returned to the city of brotherly love in 2019. These teams last met 2,082 days ago in SaskTel Centre, where the Rush took the contest 16-11.
