Yorkton Terriers clinch home-ice in Highway 10 first round matchup

Final playoff spot still up for grabs while couple playoff bound teams confirm spots

TERRIERS 6, MILLIONAIRES 3

The Yorkton Terriers got two goals each from David Coyle and Thomas Ries as they came back to defeat the Melville Millionaires 6-3 in the seventh Highway 10 battle of the regular season on Friday night.

The win also helped clinch the Terriers home-ice in their opening round matchup with the Mils that’ll begin next weekend.

SJHL scoring leader Jaron Desnoyers and Vinak Junek also scored for the Terriers while Jadon Iyogun, Edward Knittig and Jackson Lee replied for Melville.
 

Terriers’ netminder Callum Creig earned his 17th win of the season stopping 33 of 36 shots, while Nick Genette allowed five goals on 43 shots in the loss.

The two teams will wrap up their regular season with a matchup on Saturday night at the Westland Arena starting at 7:00 PM.
