Saskatchewan will be well represented in Paris

Saskatchewan residents will have a lot to cheer about starting next week in Paris.

Twenty-three individuals from Saskatchewan will proudly represent the province at the upcoming Olympic Summer Games in Paris from July 26 to August 11. This diverse contingent includes three support staff, five coaches, and 15 athletes with solid ties to Saskatchewan.
Among the athletes, Humboldt's Paige Crozon will debut in women's 3×3 basketball, marking Canada's first-ever qualification. Also returning are Pike Lake diver Rylan Wiens and Regina artistic swimming co-captain Kenzie Priddell, both attending their second consecutive Games.
Other notable athletes include diver Margo Erlam, athletics standouts Michelle Harrison, Anicka Newell, and Savannah Sutherland, water polo player Blaire McDowell, rugby 7s player Carissa Norsten, boxer Tammara Thibeault, basketball player Trey Lyles, and swimmers Blake Tierney and Kelsey Wog. Additionally, Ovesh Purahoo will represent Team Mauritius in swimming.
Minister Laura Ross congratulated the athletes and highlighted their role as inspirations and ambassadors for Saskatchewan and Canada. Coaches Lisa Borgerson, Mary Carroll, and Chris Belof bring a wealth of experience to Team Canada, while mission staff like Chris Dornan and Lisa Hoffart support various teams, including swimming.
Luke Flegel, Sask Sports Chair, praised the athletes and support system, emphasizing their accomplishment in reaching the pinnacle of the sport.
