Former Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Shea Patterson has agreed to terms with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, according to 3DownNation insider Justin Dunk.
Patterson signed with the Riders in February 2023, dressing 13 games that year, completing 4-of-6 passes for 32 yards and rushing 15 times for 39 yards plus two scores. The 28-year-old started seven games for the Green and White last season posting a 2-4-1 win-loss-tie record. He completed 60 percent of his passes for 1,655 yards with six touchdowns versus five interceptions and rushed 38 times for 134 yards plus seven majors.
The six-foot-two, 202-pound QB signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft. In 2021, he played for the Montreal Alouettes and the B.C. Lions. During his time in Montreal, he was primarily a short-yardage QB, seeing action in five games while recording 11 carries for 18 yards.
Patterson played two collegiate seasons (2018-2019) at the University of Michigan. In 26 games, he completed 60.1 percent of his passes for 5,661 yards, 45 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while adding 163 carries for 323 yards and seven majors. The Louisiana native earned All-Big Ten third-team honours in both seasons with the Wolverines.
Prior to Michigan, Patterson spent two collegiate seasons (2016-2017) at Ole Miss. He saw action in 10 games, completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 3,139 yards with 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while running 88 times for 153 yards and one touchdown.
