B.C. Lions' LB Ayinde Eley fined for high hit on Riders' Kian Schaffer-Baker during West Semi-Final

The Canadian Football League has given out discipline to one player after the Saskatchewan Roughriders West Semi-Final win over the B.C. Lions.

Linebacker Ayinde Eley has been fined for delivering a high hit on receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker. The six-foot-four, 205-pound pass catcher made four receptions for 39 yards in the Green and White victory. According to the team's injury report, he did not practice on Tuesday due to a neck injury but returned to full practice on Wednesday and Thursday entering the West Final.

Schaffer-Baker grabbed 52 balls for 735 yards with four touchdowns during 14 games in the regular season. Saskatchewan selected him in the fourth round, 30th overall during the 2020 CFL Draft. Since then he's recorded 205 catches for 2,688 yards with 14 touchdowns in 52 games. 

The Roughriders travel to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers in the West Final on Saturday. Countdown to Kick-off begins with Justin Dunk and Wes Cates at 2:30 p.m. Luc Mullinder and I join at 4:30 p.m. with the kick-off to follow at 5:30 p.m. on the Co-operators Roughrider Radio Network.
