The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League announced their second slate of SJHL Player of the Week recipients.
After starting the season in the BCHL, Jerome Maharaj returned to the Weyburn Red Wings and hit the ground running, contributing five points in his first two games back in the SJHL, to earn the SJHL MVP of the Week.
Meanwhile, Humboldt’s Jacon Strizzi earned SJHL Forward of the Week after scoring four times and adding one assist to help the Broncos earn five out of a possible six points in their three games.
Other award winners from the week included Notre Dame’s Vinny Palmarin, who captured SJHL Defenseman of the Week after his three-point return. Kindersley defenseman Jaxon Herchak earned Rookie of the Week, Saskatoon product Gavin Granger was the Sask.-born Player of the Week, while rookie Bombers netminder Massimo Urbani won both of his starts this week for Flin Flon to be named SJHL Goalie of the Week.
