SJHL gets swept by MJHL on final day of 2025 MJHL-SJHL Showcase

MJHL takes all three on Day 2 to finish with 4-2 record over SJHL

GAME 6: MJHL 18U WHITE 2 ,  SJHL 18U BLUE 1 (SO)

Max Lavoie scored the game winner in the 15th round of the shootout to lead MJHL 18U White to a 2-1 victory over Team SJHL 18U Blue in the finale of the 2025 Showcase in Winnipeg.

Ashton Tait (SJHL) and Esteban Cinq-Mars exchanged goals in regulation.

MJHL netminder Taye Timmerman made 34 saves on 35 shots for the win, while Kindersley’s Brett O’Halloran stopped 35 shots.


GAME 5: MJHL 20U Red 6 , SJHL 20U WHITE 4

MJHL 20U Red used a four goal third period to beat SJHL 20U White 6-4 in the second to last matchup at the MJHL-SJHL Showcase.

Winkler Flyers duo of Jayce Leegarden and Brody Beauchemin chipped in with one goal, one assist while Ty Plaisier chipped in with three assists.

Isaiah Peters, Sean Williams, Quincy Supprien, Adam Vigfusson also scored for MJHL, while replying for the SJHL was Jaron Desnoyers(Yorkton), Reilly Kotai (Melfort), Dustin Renas (Yorkton) and Jacob Strizzi (Humboldt).

Austin Dubinsky stopped 20 shots in the MJHL crease, while SJHL netminder Justen Maric made 26 saves on 31 shots.

 

GAME 4:  MJHL 20U Black 5 , SJHL 20U GOLD 1

Cole Sheffield of the Dauphin Kings made 43 saves on 44 shots while Portage’s Cam Bullinger scored twice to help MJHL 20U Black to a 5-1 win over SJHL 20U Gold in the Day 2 opener. 


Matteo Speranza, Nolan Nenow & Yorkton product Grady Hoffman also scored for MJHL, while Anthony Piccininno’s second goal of the event was the lone marker for SJHL.
 

Flin Flon netminder Matthew Kieper stopped 29 of 33 shots in the loss.
