The Saskatoon Blades win streak was snapped at four games after a 2-1 loss Saturday at the Peavey Mart Centrium against the Red Deer Rebels.

Columbus Blue Jackets draft pick Evan Gardner was sensational for the Blue and Gold, despite his record falling to 4-2-1-0. The 18-year-old netminder stopped 33-of-35 shots, while 20-year-old winger Brandon Lisowsky scored the lone goal for Saskatoon. The Port Coquitlam, BC product has points in four straight games, with three goals and two assists in that span.

Linemate Ben Riche also extended his point streak to four games with an assist, giving him two goals and four helpers in that time. Rookie defenceman Isaac Poll collected his first career WHL point on Lisowsky’s goal as well.

The Blades are home Wednesday for $5 night against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Tickets are $5 (in-store only), along with $5 beer and burgers all night long. It’s also Winning Wednesday at SaskTel Centre, meaning if the Blades win, everyone in attendance walks home with a free ticket to the next home game.
