Training camp for the Regina Pats opens today at the Brandt Centre as 71 players will look to stake their claim to a roster spot for the upcoming season.
Yesterday, players were put through their paces and had assorted fitness tests for the group.
Defenceman Kolten Bridgeman was happy to be back, “it’s a good shot to show all the coaches and staff how hard we have worked over the summer.”
“It’s a chance to prove ourselves and get our spot back on this team.”
On-ice sessions will begin today and run through Monday, September 2. The Pats' annual Blue vs. White game at 6 p.m. will wrap up the first weekend of camp.
The Pats will open the pre-season against the Swift Current Broncos next Wednesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
