Fort Knox and the Saskatoon Westleys battle in the Prairie Junior Hockey League Final

The Prairie Junior Hockey League final shifted to Fort Knox on Saturday with the home team leading the series over the Westleys, thanks to a pair of wins in Saskatoon in games one and two.

The game was historic as it was the first time in franchise history that Fort Knox had hosted a league final game.

The Westleys opened the scoring 14:56 into the opening period when Reed McLachlan scored his fifth of the post-season to put the visitors in front.

In the second period, the Westleys would continue to pour it on, finding the back of the net three times, despite surrendering a pair of goals to Fort Knox.

In the third period, tensions rose as the teams combined for 20 minutes in penalties. Amidst the physicality, the Westleys didn’t lose focus, scoring three more times to win the game 7-3.

Fort Knox still leads the best-of-seven series 2-1. Game four is Sunday afternoon in Fort Qu’Appelle.
