SASKATOON — The boys in blue and gold sent the majority of over 11,000 fans home with a smile on their face Friday night.
The hometown team, got on the board less than three minutes in.
Alexander Suzdalev was stopped by Jackson Unger but he kicked the rebound right to Fraser Minton who scored his seventh of the playoffs, and it was one-nothing for the Blades.
Exactly eight minutes later, the Blades would add to their lead.
Easton Armstrong elected to pass to the hottest player in the postseason, Egor Sidorov, and he would score his 14th.
Blades led it 2-0 after the first period, despite being outshot 17 to 10.
Second period, the Blades had the extra attacker after Matthew Savoie was given a double-minor for high sticking, and they capitalized. Defenceman Charlie Wright beat a screened Jackson Unger on a shot from the point. That power-play goal was his fourth goal of the playoffs.
Blades led it 3-0.
Still in the second, Charlie Wright was stopped but Brandon Lisowsky picked up the rebound and buried his seventh.
Moose Jaw goaltender Jackson Unger was pulled for Dimitri Fortin. The Blades entered the second intermission with a commanding 4-0 lead.
In the third, the Warriors finally get one past Evan Gardiner, on their 23rd shot. Just 49 seconds into the period Lucas Brenton scoree his first of the second season and the Blades lead was cut to three.
Less than four minutes later the Warriors scored again, this time while on the power-play.
Matthew Savoie set up Jagger Firkus for his 11th of the playoffs and the Blades' lead was cut to two.

Under three minutes later, they get a lucky bounce. Denton Mateychuk spins and fires the puck into the slot, and it redirects off of Egor Sidorov's skate past Gardiner. Three straight goals from the Warriors cuts the lead to just one.
With all the momentum on the Warriors side, they got their fourth in a row. Denton Mateychuk got his second straight and eighth of the postseason to tie the game at 4 and send it into overtime for the fourth time in five games.
The final goal came with just 1:45 left in the first overtime and it was Tanner Molendyk to Fraser Minton for the one-timer and his eighth of the playoffs as the Blades win game five, in overtime, by a score of 5-4.
Four of the five games in this series have been decided in overtime.
Game six of the provincial WHL Eastern Conference Final is set for Sunday in Moose Jaw at 2 p.m.
