The Saskatchewan Roughriders were back on the field Tuesday practicing for the West Final match-up against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Defensive lineman Miles Brown was a full participant with a brace on his shoulder. Offensive lineman Trevor Reid was at the session but did not physically take part.
"Myles was out there working, so I don't see anything there. Trevor's going to try to push through. We'll keep pushing to see what it will look like come game day," head coach Corey Mace said post-practice. "Anytime guys go down at any point in the game, it's tough, especially now. We'll see how it ends up."
The starting offensive line was the same at practice as the group that finished the West Semi-Final 28-19 win over the B.C. Lions: Trevon Tate, Zack Fry, Peter Godber, Jacob Brammer and Logan Ferland. After Reid suffered a lower-body injury during the game, Tate flipped to left tackle while Ferland kicked out to right tackle and Godber entered the game at centre.
"Ferland was going to go out to left and my instincts -- 'I've always seen you play right, stick to that side at least and I'll deal with making the change.' Ferland and I talked [in the huddle] before it happened. We were both comfortable with the change. I feel like that was the best decision for the team. It was challenging but it had to get done," Tate said.
"We feel comfortable and confident putting people in there. I put full trust into Ed [Harrison], [Marc] Mueller and AV [Anthony Vitale], all those guys on the offensive side. I've been very open, I think Logan can play all five positions. My experience with Tate knowing he can play right and left, naturally I think he's a left. Versatility is good to have," Mace said.
